Make it stand out.

It was the late 1990s. The newspaper classified was still a viable way to sell your stuff. But increasingly under duress from the interwebs. I was a newspaper journalist at the time, but I was asked by The Lexington Herald-Leader’s head marketer to help with an campaign promoting the Classified Ads section of the paper. This was my first foray into copywriting, and I still think it’s pretty solid work. He could see my talent. I’m grateful for that. Soon I left journalism for advertising.
